Disappeared battery Self-destruct after trigger to protect device data

Basically, the longer the battery life, the better. However, the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has begun to study self-destructive batteries. As the name suggests, by triggering such a battery, the device can be destroyed to protect the data in the electronic device.

Despite their different research directions, last week DARPA has signed a $4.7 billion contract with SRI International, an independent research institute in Menlo Park, California. SRI International mainly uses this money to develop a transient battery. When it is triggered, it cannot be seen by the human eye. More specifically, SRI International will develop an air battery, which is mainly supplied to DARPA. The reason that DARPA hopes to develop such batteries is that they have deployed advanced equipment for soldiers, including night-vision goggles, more accurate laser sighting systems and devices that can generate power. And they hope that in the future they can deploy computers for soldiers, CNC 3D printers, etc. In the face of real-world problems, soldiers can use these devices to create and "print" physical products to solve problems.

However, if these devices unfortunately fall into the hands of each other, they will pose a great threat to them. Therefore, they thought of using the "Vanishing Programmable Resources (VAPR)" component that can be embedded in computers and other electronic devices. When it is not needed, it can break down and disappear in the land. Alicia Jackson, the VAPR program director, said that when DARPA hopes to need electronic equipment, the battery can maintain long-term battery life. And this battery can be triggered by the signal sent by the command, or use any digital triggering of the environmental conditions, such as temperature.

Once triggered, no one can use these electronic devices.
