Most of the binders are made of high-molecular materials, and some require a certain amount of solvent. Chemical reactions or physical effects are used to achieve curing. These will occur slowly during the adhesive storage process. Therefore, the adhesives are used. There are certain storage periods, which are related to storage conditions such as humidity, temperature, ventilation and so on. In order to ensure that the performance of the adhesive is basically unchanged within the specified period, it is necessary to strictly observe the method of storing the adhesive. For different types of adhesives, the storage conditions are different due to their different properties.

The precautions for the storage of several commonly used adhesives are as follows:

1) Epoxy resin adhesive should be stored in a ventilated, dry, cool, room temperature environment for a period of six months to one year.

2) The phenolic resin binder should be packed in a closed container and stored in a cool, away from fire, with a period of six months to one year.

3) The polyisocyanate glue should be placed in a brown bottle, stored in the dark at low temperature, metal containers cannot be used, and rubber and cork stoppers cannot be used. It is strictly waterproof and enters, otherwise it will undergo polymerization and deterioration; the prepolymer polyurethane adhesive should not be stored at low temperature to prevent condensation. The shelf life of component A can be 2 years, and the components should be protected from moisture and avoid moisture or other inclusions. The contact of active hydrogen is limited to six months to one year.

4) The storage temperature of urea-formaldehyde resin binder should be as low as possible. If 5% methanol is added to improve storage stability.

5) Neoprene adhesive container, the sealing is good. Store at room temperature, not too high temperature (>30 °C) or too low (<5 °C), away from fire. Storage period is 3 to 6 months.

6) The a-cyanoacrylate adhesive should be stored in a sealed, low-temperature, dry, dark, cool place for a period of one year. Glass bottles are stored for a longer period of time than plastic bottles.

7) Anaerobic adhesive should be stored in a cool, dark place. The storage period is half a year. The material of the packaging container should be polyethylene. Do not use iron container, and it should not be filled to avoid the air from being isolated and the polymerization failure.

8) SGA adhesive should be sealed and stored. The two components should be isolated and placed in a cool, ventilated, low temperature, dry place with a period of six months to one year.

9) Polyvinyl acrylate emulsion (milk white glue) is packaged in glass, ceramic and plastic containers. The storage temperature is 5~30c. Pay attention to antifreeze and the storage period is 1 year.

10) Hot melt adhesive should be stored in the dark, heat insulation and room temperature.

11) Inorganic adhesives should be sealed and stored to prevent moisture absorption.
