A new generation of Nissan Leaf electric vehicles will use wireless power supply system

Nissan Motors recently said that the new generation of Leaf electric vehicles will adopt a wireless power supply system.

Such a wireless power supply system mainly performs wireless power transmission by transmitting power between a power receiving unit disposed below the floor behind the vehicle and a power supply unit disposed on the ground. The wireless power supply adopts the electromagnetic induction method and the rated output power is 3k~6kW. The overall efficiency achieved 80~90%. The distance between the power supply coil and the power receiving coil can be sufficiently supplied at about 150mm.

This charging method will be cheaper and more efficient, and it will not need an annoying power cord. Simply using a simple electromagnetic induction mat, the car will be very dynamic. The current price of this wireless charging method has not yet been disclosed, but industry insiders are not expected to be too cheap.
