Aluminum alloy material preparation technology in Hebei Province has achieved breakthrough progress

The National Science and Technology Support Plan Project undertaken by Hebei Iron and Steel Group Chenggang Co., Ltd., “Study on the High-Efficiency Preparation and Industrialization Technology of Vanadium Alloy Materials”, has made a breakthrough in the preparation technology of vanadium alloy materials recently. Its innovative process “electrical aluminum heat method” Production of vanadium and aluminum alloy technology is the world's first, successfully smelting out 55 vanadium aluminum alloy (55% vanadium containing vanadium alloy) for aerospace terminal, and the product has reached the vanadium alloy developed by Germany GFE company Product standards, and explored a number of process parameters, laid the foundation for the next step in the establishment of industrial production lines. This technological breakthrough is expected to solve the long-term reliance on imported aerospace grade vanadium alloys.

Vanadium aluminum alloy is an intermediate alloy for the production of titanium alloys. The titanium alloy produced with vanadium alloy as the intermediate alloy has the characteristics of light weight, high hardness, high elasticity, corrosion resistance, etc., and is widely used in the aviation and aerospace industries, and is an important material for manufacturing aircraft and spacecraft parts. Over the years, only a few countries, such as the United States and Germany, have achieved industrialized production of aerospace grade vanadium and aluminum products at home and abroad. In 2011, Chengde City Science and Technology Bureau guided Chenggang Company to carry out research and development of vanadium aluminum alloy, and applied for inclusion in the 2012 National Science and Technology Support Program. In March 2012, Chenggang developed the industrialization preparation technology for aerospace grade vanadium-aluminum alloy products and its inspection standards, and built a production line with an annual output of 500 tons. Earlier this year, it succeeded in producing an intermediate product 85 vanadium aluminum that meets German raw material standards. . Afterwards, Chenggang Company continued to explore and determine the key parameters such as the highest temperature of the vacuum furnace. After many tests, it successfully completed the first eight-furnace vanadium aluminum alloy smelting experiment and eventually produced 55 vanadium-aluminum products.
