Overall, its performance is close to that of oil-based paints. However, only a few companies in China currently produce this high-quality product.

Polyurethane-based water paints offer superior overall performance. They provide excellent film hardness, typically reaching 1.5–2H on the pencil scale, and have exceptional wear resistance—often exceeding that of traditional oil-based paints. These products also offer long service life and excellent color retention, making them an advanced option in the water-based paint industry. Their environmental benefits and performance make them a preferred choice for those seeking high-quality, eco-friendly solutions.
4. Pseudo-Water Paint
Some products labeled as "water-based" actually contain high levels of solvents and chemicals such as hardeners or paint enhancers. While they may be diluted with water, their solvent content is still significant and harmful to human health. In some cases, these products can be more toxic than traditional oil-based paints. Some companies falsely market them as "water-based polyester paint," which can mislead consumers. It’s important for buyers to be cautious and verify the actual composition of the product before purchasing.
