Before sanding, repair any damaged areas with sandpaper, repeating the process until the surface becomes smooth and shiny. For small areas, manual polishing is also an option. After using 1500-grit wet sandpaper, apply a polishing agent and move in circular motions to achieve a bright, even finish. If needed, toothpaste can be used as a substitute for abrasive materials, though it may require more time and effort. High-quality acrylic bathtubs from reputable brands are more scratch-resistant. Light scratches can be treated with toothpaste and a soft brush, while deeper ones should be handled by a professional to avoid further damage.

To remove stains like gelatin, use turpentine or a mild cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals that can dull the acrylic’s shine. Always use non-corrosive cleaning products to preserve the bathtub’s appearance.

Cast iron bathtubs are heavy and durable, but their enamel coating is usually thinner than that of steel models. Avoid using abrasive cleaners when cleaning them, as they can damage the surface. One downside is that they cool down quickly, and their design tends to be bulkier, especially in lower-end models. However, they have a long lifespan and are ideal for those looking for a classic, long-lasting option.

For general cleaning, use an acid-free cleaner and a soft foam pad to gently remove dirt from the non-slip surface of the bathtub. Cast iron models are particularly prone to scratches, so always handle them with care. If there are rust spots, treat them with decontamination powder, wipe with a dry cloth, and apply a special adhesive to prevent further damage.

Wooden bathtubs come pre-treated with a layer of tung oil during manufacturing. In the first few days after purchase, ensure good ventilation in the bathroom by opening windows to allow the strong smell to dissipate. It's normal for some water to seep through initially. Once filled and left to soak for over 12 hours, the seepage should stop. If issues persist, contact the manufacturer for assistance.

Wood naturally expands and contracts, so avoid placing the tub in direct sunlight or near cold drafts. If not in use for more than two months, cover the tub with a plastic bag and keep it slightly moist to maintain its integrity. Don’t fill it completely with water, as the bathroom’s humidity is usually sufficient. Also, avoid leaving dirty bathwater in the tub, as this can cause wood to age faster or develop mold.

Over time, the metal bands around the wooden tub may loosen. To fix this, simply invert the tub and tighten the wire. The wall thickness of the wooden tub should ideally be between 2 and 3 cm for optimal insulation and durability.
