According to Wu Bolin, executive vice president of the association, one of the themes of this survey is how to implement the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” for the machine tool industry.

Wu Bolin said: "Every five-year plan has been super-advanced. What is the result? Now it has been suggested that in five years, Chinese machine tool enterprises will have to become bigger and stronger. This goal is a bit high and unrealistic. Of course, It is still possible to gradually advance in this direction. At present, domestic machine tool manufacturers are generally large but not strong, while functional components and CNC systems companies are neither large nor strong."

Three key five initiatives should be taken this year and next

Wu Bolin told reporters that for the work from 2011 to 2012, the Machine Tool Association proposed three key tasks and five measures.

First of all, focus on improving the competitiveness of the medium and high-end CNC machine tools market. Efforts will be made to improve the stability and reliability of medium and high-end CNC machine tools; improve application software; reduce costs and optimize cost performance; and enable industrial enterprises to rapidly industrialize existing products or new products of medium and high-end CNC machine tools into products with market competitiveness.

Secondly, efforts will be made to improve the industrialization level of domestic CNC systems and major functional components. Second, focus on promoting the transformation of development methods. In order to meet the rapidly increasing market demand and accelerate the transformation of the economic development mode, industry enterprises must take effective measures to quickly change the tendency of “hard and soft”, from simply selling products to providing users with all-round solutions to improve product technology. Added value to enhance market competitiveness.

Wu Bolin believes that in order to successfully complete the above tasks and achieve the expected main objectives, we should continue to give full play to the role of the bridge association of the Machine Tool Association and enhance the service functions under the support and guidance of the government policy. The whole industry will work together to adopt the following five measures.

Measure 1 : Solve the deep-level technology of medium and high-end CNC machine tools and improve the level of industrialization. Focusing on the lack of market competitiveness of domestically produced medium and high-end CNC machine tools, “the quality is not going, the price is not coming”, we will analyze and solve the deep-level technology and industrialization technology problems for the specific products of the enterprise. Measure 3 : Actively promote the technological transformation of industrial enterprises in the integration of two industries.
