In order to actively respond to the call of the Party Central Committee, it is essential to thoroughly implement the guidelines set by the Ministry of Education, the Communist Youth League Central Committee, and the Provincial Party Committee. This initiative aims to guide young people in deeply understanding the significance of the "Chinese Dream" and the "Central Plains Dream," further inspiring a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm among students to learn from the country and contribute to its development. Social practice plays a vital role in this process, offering real-world experiences that enrich students' education and broaden their perspectives.
On July 3rd, the School of Materials at Henan University of Technology held the mobilization conference and launching ceremony for its 2013 Summer Social Practice activities. The theme of this year's campaign was "Building a Beautiful Chinese Dream." A total of 40 teams were formed, each preparing carefully and carrying out activities across various locations, achieving meaningful progress along the way.
One of the key activities involved visiting alumni from the university, with the "Sports Science and Technology University" summer practice team visiting companies such as Zhengzhou Shuangrun Technology Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Saint-Gobain Abrasives Co., Ltd., and Zhengzhou Xinya Composite Superhard Materials Co., Ltd. These visits not only conveyed greetings from the alma mater but also strengthened the bond between the school and its graduates, enhancing the school’s cohesion. Students had the opportunity to learn about the history of the institution, the struggles and life experiences of alumni, and their entrepreneurial journeys, which helped them better plan their university lives and set clear personal goals.
Another significant event took place on July 9th, when the "Cheng Wen Yang Zhi" social practice team joined forces with students from Chiayi University in Taiwan for the "Summer Crossing the Straits Meet the Central Plains" youth camp. The group visited the Bigan Temple in Weihui, Xinxiang, where they paid homage to ancestral temples and engaged in cultural exchanges. Through these interactions, young people from both sides gained a deeper understanding of each other’s ethnic cultures, educational systems, and lifestyles, strengthening their recognition of Chinese culture and the shared heritage of the Chinese nation.
In addition, the "Harmony Line" team of the School of Materials conducted community service in Funiubei, earning high praise from local residents and the community director, Hu Jianping. The team also established a practice base in the community. Meanwhile, the "Green Dream" team researched Wuxin Heavy Industry in Wugang City, leading to a collaboration agreement and the establishment of a social practice base.
Through the combined efforts of faculty and students, the School of Materials achieved remarkable results in its 2013 summer social practice activities. These initiatives effectively demonstrated the value of practical learning, helping students gain a deeper understanding of national conditions, develop their talents, and serve society through real-world engagement.
