After 15 days of feeding and observation, the "Yuan Yuan" grew normally and healthy. The successful cloning of subspecies buffaloes using high-quality breed cattle and native buffalo is the first case in the world. At present, there are 7 recipient cows that have been pregnant with this technique in Guangxi buffalo, and there will be intersubspecific cloned buffaloes in the near future.

"Yuan Yuan" birth weight 39 kilograms, body color black, its shape, appearance characteristics and Indian Moula buffalo exactly the same. It was born through a rigorous scientific process that uses the ear skin fibroblasts of the Indian Mora buffalo as a donor nucleus and the enucleated oocyte of the native buffalo of our country as the nucleus, and the two subspecies buffalo cells After a series of complicated technical operations in vitro, an early embryo was cultivated and transplanted into the recipient's hybrid mother buffalo. After 335 days, it was naturally delivered by abdominal pregnancies.

"The introduction and application of buffalo embryo cloning technology" is the "948" project of the Ministry of Agriculture. It is the chief expert of the Guangxi Buffalo Research Institute Huang Youjun Researcher. It has been implemented since July 2004. This project has already broken through the in vitro fertilization technology of buffalo, and through the introduction of cloning technology, it uses the embryonic embryonic cells or somatic cells and the indigenous buffalo oocytes of China's rich resources to construct the reconstructed embryos, transplant them to local buffaloes, and establish a water buffalo suitable for China's national conditions. Clone the technical system to solve the problem of slow expansion of China's breed buffaloes.

The performance of milk is low and the economic efficiency is poor. According to expert analysis, if the breed is improved, the potential for producing milk from pigs will be excavated. Through the value-added of processing, the total potential value of milk buffalo in China can reach more than 200 billion yuan.
