Wuhan furniture only accounts for about 10% of the furniture market share

 

A research report provided by the Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission yesterday showed that in 2012, the province ’s total furniture output value was 2.1 billion yuan, and there were only more than 10 Chinese furniture companies with an annual output value of more than 10 million yuan, less than 1/20 of Chuanpai Furniture; The annual sales of the furniture market in Wuhan exceeds 12 billion yuan, while the market share of Han furniture only accounts for about 10%.

In recent years, China's furniture industry has achieved a high annual average growth rate of 25%. In 2012, the national furniture output value was approximately 750 billion yuan, accounting for about 25% of the world's total output value. The Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, Bohai Bay Rim, and "Four poles" in the furniture industry in Southwest China have grown into a group of well-known brands. In contrast, there is still a large gap in Hubei Province.

In terms of scale, the overall size of the furniture industry in Hubei Province is "small", and the largest Han furniture company, Lianle, has an annual output value of only 100 million yuan. The annual output value of Sichuan Quanyou Furniture has exceeded 5 billion yuan. In terms of market share, the annual sales of furniture in our province exceeded 25 billion yuan in 2012, but 80% of the market cake was snatched by Guangdong and Sichuan, and 10% was divided by other foreign furniture companies.

 

The lag in the market for specialized parts is another outstanding problem. Zhou Wei introduced that in Shenzhen, every link of the factory production is very complete, such as hardware, fabrics, sponges, etc., there are multiple fixed supply companies. "The waste products and waste materials we produce in Chengdu will be scrambled, and here we even have to find manufacturers from Yichang to buy them."

        Chengdu furniture logistics network is perfect, but the overall scale of Hubei furniture industry is not large, lacking a perfect logistics system. At present, the company's products are mainly sold in Hunan, Hubei and Anhui. If sold to other places, the company will have to drag "Qianjiang made" furniture back to Chengdu for delivery. Relevant sources of Qianjiang Development and Reform Commission revealed that there are not a few enterprises that do this.

At present, Hubei Province has proposed to create the "fifth pole of Chinese furniture". Within the ring zone 200 kilometers away from Wuhan, five furniture industrial parks have been spontaneously formed, such as Qianjiang Huazhong Furniture Industrial Park and Hongan Rongyuan Furniture Industrial Park , Hanchuan Golden Drum City Furniture Industrial Park, Xiantao Wenhua Haobuska International Furniture Industrial Park, Hankou North Furniture CBD, etc. The Provincial Development and Reform Commission said that the next step will be to develop a furniture industry development plan to focus on solving development problems and making it a new growth point for Hubei's economy.
