On July 19, 2013, the China National Building Materials Inspection and Certification Group Suzhou Co., Ltd., the China Building Waterproof Association, and the Building Materials Industry Technology Supervision and Research Center jointly submitted an application to revise the national standard “Pre-Pave/Wet-Pave Waterproof Coil†(GB/T 23457) -2009. This revision was included in the “2013 First National Standards Revision Plan†issued by the National Standardization Management Committee. The revised standard was renamed as “Concrete Mortar Bonded Waterproofing Membrane Part 1: Pre-Laid Waterproofing Membrane,†with the plan number 20130895-T-609. At the same time, the development of “Concrete Mortar Bonded Waterproofing Membrane Part 2: Wet-Laid Waterproofing Membrane†was also initiated, under the plan number 20130896-T-609.
The National Standards Commission emphasized that relevant technical committees and key drafting organizations should actively implement the plan, enhance coordination during the standard drafting process, gather extensive feedback from stakeholders, ensure the quality and technical level of the standards, and complete the revision tasks on schedule. This initiative reflects a broader effort to improve construction safety, environmental protection, and industry efficiency through updated and more accurate specifications.
