If these parameters are too high, aluminum ions can accumulate, which may negatively affect the quality of the oxide layer formed on the surface.

To ensure that the newly prepared anodizing solution doesn't compromise the film quality due to a lack of aluminum ions, it's advisable to perform partial replacement rather than completely replacing the solution. For example, leaving behind 1/3 or 1/4 of the old solution ensures that the concentration of aluminum ions remains suitable after the replacement. However, if the original solution is contaminated and must be fully replaced, there are alternative methods to reintroduce the necessary aluminum ions.

One approach is to conduct a power treatment before the new solution cools down to the working temperature. By using scrap aluminum pieces or shavings during this period, the dissolution rate of aluminum increases significantly at higher temperatures. This method typically takes 3 to 4 hours to achieve the desired level of aluminum ion concentration.

Another option is to add aluminum powder directly to the solution. A dosage of 2 to 3 grams per liter of solution is sufficient to maintain the proper concentration of aluminum ions. Both methods help maintain consistent anodizing performance and ensure the production of high-quality oxide coatings.

It's important to monitor the solution regularly and adjust the aluminum ion levels as needed to prevent issues that could lead to uneven or defective anodic films. These practices not only improve the efficiency of the anodizing process but also contribute to long-term cost savings by reducing waste and rework.
