Given its versatility as a composite material, FRP’s potential market is immense. According to statistics, countries worldwide have developed around 40,000 types of FRP products. Despite differing development priorities based on economic conditions, most nations have incorporated FRP into various industrial sectors. Over four decades of development, China's FRP industry has successfully integrated itself across multiple sectors of the national economy, playing a crucial role in economic progress. The main applications of FRP can be summarized as follows: 1. Construction Industry: Cooling towers, FRP doors and windows, structural elements, interior fittings, decorative panels, sanitary ware, solar energy devices, and more. 2. Chemical Industry: Corrosion-resistant pipes, storage tanks, pumps, valves, grating, ventilation systems, and wastewater treatment equipment. 3. Automotive and Rail Transport: Car bodies, vehicle components, train windows, roof panels, water tanks, and communication facilities. 4. Road Construction: Traffic signs, barriers, guardrails, and similar infrastructure. 5. Maritime Industry: Passenger ships, fishing vessels, yachts, lifeboats, and buoys. 6. Electrical and Communication: Arc extinguishers, insulators, radomes, antennas, and more. In recent years, with advancements in technology and rising living standards, numerous civilian FRP products have emerged. Urban sculptures, furniture, appliances, and even amusement park rides now commonly incorporate FRP materials. FRP tiles, another innovative product, are gaining popularity for their durability and transparency. These tiles, made from high-performance films, polyester, and glass fibers, offer UV protection and anti-static properties, ensuring longevity and cleanliness. They are extensively used in both commercial and residential constructions. The film industry also benefits from FRP, where it’s used to create realistic props efficiently and cost-effectively. In chemical plants, FRP is replacing stainless steel in corrosion-resistant equipment, significantly extending equipment lifespan. Its non-magnetic nature makes FRP invaluable in military applications, particularly in missile radomes that allow radar signals to pass through unimpeded. In sports, FRP has revolutionized pole vaulting. Replacing traditional materials like wood and bamboo, FRP poles offer flexibility and strength, propelling athletes’ records past the 6-meter mark. Today, FRP is deeply embedded in daily life. Known affectionately as "FRP," it serves as window glass, blocking harmful UV rays while brightening interiors. It’s also found in durable household items like bathtubs, kitchenware, and toiletries. With its adaptability and performance, FRP continues to redefine modern living, promising even greater innovations in the future.
